View Full Version : Flax Seed Salad Dressing

I tried blending flax seeds in my salad dressing tonight (using tomato and some herbs with nama shoyu), but I think I may have used too much (about 2 oz) b/c the consistency was disgusting... I couldn't eat it. It even made my sister gag...eeeewwww.
I was wondering. Does anyone have any really good salad dressings that call for flax seeds, seeing that I now have a bag of flax seeds here and nothing to do with them, especially since I don't dehydrate.

Flax absorbs water, so it might be best to avoid adding them to your dressings themselves.... I'm guessing it turned into a kind of slimy gelantinous mixture? However, you could grind them up and toss the ground up seeds on your salad before you dress it. That way, you're getting the nutrition without the funky salad dressing texture!

I love ground flax, I add a couple tablespoons to my veggie juice every morning (then I guzzle the juice because if you let it sit for a few minutes, it soaks up all the liquid and turns into sludge :p
When I add it to my salad, I just sprinkle a couple of tablespoons on the salad, THEN pour on the dressing. YUM
