are they raw and do you eat the whole thing or just the seeds inside....

I should think they are raw. Unless they use some kind of high heat to dry them out. And there are different kinds of figs. I always ate the whole thing.

I eat the whole fig, except for the stalk! I don't know what temperature they are dried at - I do know though that I much prefer fresh figs - they are magic!

I am assuming that they are raw and I use the entire thing in the date nut tort.

They are raw if they are sundried, or dried at low temps. You eat the whole thing, but be sure to remove the hard stem on the pointed end first. It is hard, and kind of sharp, not good to eat :)
