For those of us that have a tendency towards more simple recipes, here goes.
the best I've created so far.
Let's call it ....
"Collard goes Bananas"
1 medium banana
4 collard leaves and remove the middle stem.
1 broccoli stem with florets
Food process all together until pdding and lumpy texture. Top with soaked raisins (optional) and 3 slices of fuji apple for garnish.
Sweet and Refreshing........stomach friendly :)
I think this belongs here too. Hope you don't mind Misslinda.

Teri, you read my mind! Thank you...... ;)
Jen (JMD) likes simple recipes also.
I treat myself every now and then with a more "fancy" dish but for the most part, simple.

Her's mine...............It's a raw chopped salad. It's puuuuuuurty too!!
Spinach
Mushrooms
Red peppers
Onions
Carrots
Zucchini (I sometimes leave it out. I always have the other stuff on hand)
Chop it in the food processor..............toss with olive oil and celtic sea salt.
It is so simple and so yummy. It's great to eat as a salad or the filling for roll ups or to fill a portabello mushroom cap.

These sound so great! I love banana and mango pureed together. A friend of mine gave me a recipe for a fruit pie...you make a nut crust...then layer with the "pudding" , then a fruit of your choice (I think blueberries or cherries work the best) then another sprinkling of the crust mixture, then pudding, then top with your berries. I fed this to some non raw friends, their little girl asked for seconds! YUMMY

Talking about puddings, I made a really good one yesterday:
dried peaches
dried apricots
(Soaked these overnight in the fridge)
cashews
soak water
fresh oranges
fresh tangerines
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
ground cloves
a little agave syrup
Put into a food processor, and blend until it is the consistency you like. I like my fruit pudding pretty smooth, but with a few little chunks left in it. I put it in a pretty dish, and topped with chopped cashews. I think it would be good with chopped pecans, also. I'll try those next time.
My non-veg, non-raw husband thought it was delicious!

I have yet to try this mango/banana pudding. My body right now cannot handle mango but looking forward to it.
Cucumber/Fuji apple
1/2 cucumber
1 crisp fuji apple
FP until chutney texture.
The seeds in cucumber are great for stunted bowels. The water from the cucumber is very cleansing and cooling to the body. Good ole apple is alkalizing, rich in pectin and rich in malic acid for breaking down stones.

A crisp ripe apple -- take in hand, bite into it, chew and swallow.
A juicy orange -- pick up, peel, throw away the peel and eat the fruit.
Fragrant mango -- slice off the two "cheeks", score each half into squares, turn inside out, eat over sink.
Crunchy red pepper -- hold in hand, take bites until all gone.
Ripe avocado -- cut in half, remove seed, spoon contents into mouth.
Etcetera . . .

MissLinda!!
I am finally here..
I love what is posted thusfar. My latest fave dressing that I put in my magic bullet is what i call Avocado mush. I mix: handful of cilantro and parsley, 1/2-1 avocado, juice of a lemon, and 4 oz cucumber. I blend it up to desired consistency adding water if i want it thinner . It is keeping me raw and lets me enjoy my greens without feeling like they are too dry or boring. Also I do't feel the digestive upsets with oversalting and spicing things like I get at my local raw restaurant etc...
Also, If one can handle citrus like oranges...a juicy orange blended with an avocado is a GREAT zippy dressing on some butter or leaf lettuces.
Keep them coming people..I love SIMPLE RAW eating!!

One of my favorite simple recipes
is one frozen banana
1 champion juicer or food processor
blend the banana until smooth
and eat.
if you want to be more complicated
you can add
raisins
or nuts
or agave nectar
or honey
or dried fruits
or fresh fruits
or other frozen things
you can top your banana ice cream with these, or blend them in if you like.
it is always good
you can even add some carob or dates or both

Title: #466591 Lebanese Garlic Sauce
Categories: Lebanese, Sauces
Yield: 1 servings
4 Bulbs of garlic, peeled (please core the garlic therefore no b.o.)
1 c Lemon juice
1 ts Salt
3 c raw macadamia oil (up to 4)/ or raw avocado oil
Put in blender (NOT a food processor) and blend until smooth on medium. Add
in an extremely slow stream, 3 to 4 cups of Puritan oil. Blend constantly
on about medium. It should become like a thick white mayonnaise
consistency. Store in refrigerator in a glass container. Serve with meats,
as a seasoning in salad dressings or on pocket bread sandwiches. This is a
tricky recipe. Sometimes it "breaks". That is, it stays thin instead of the
mayonnaise consistency. The flavors remain the same. If it separates in
storage, just stir or blend again.
Ok. Please note. Olive oil does not work. real bummer, but that's the truth. Raw macadamia oil is good, raw vege oils are good, except sesame oil.
Now to score a touchdown with this, add a teeny weeny bit of sesame oil, to this mixture as you are emulsifying it in your food processor. Not too much, but this will kill all cravings for mayo, and is raw.
You can eat too much of this if you don't restrain yourself. :D ;)

Spinach Salad * * * * *
3 cups spinach
1/2 sweet red onion thinly sliced
1 small cucumber thinly sliced
1/2 red pepper thinly sliced
8-10 cherry tomatoes
Wash spinach, wrap in cloth towel, and place in refrigerator for a half-hour while preparing the rest of the vegetables.
Thinly slice onion, red pepper, and cucumber. Halve tomatoes. Tear crisped spinach into small pieces and toss with remainder of raw vegetables. Add your favorite healthy salad dressing.

From www.learnrawfood.com/newsletter.htm
Raw chocolate cake (tastes like a fatty, intense cooked chocolate):
1½ cups raw walnuts
dash salt
8 pitted dates (medjool - I use ordinary small dry ones and use 9 or 10)
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa or carob powder
½ teaspoon vanilla extract (I don't know what that is, so I used real vanilla corns)
2 teaspoons of water (I use 2½ teaspoons, because I don't use the extract water)
Blend in food processor. Try starting with the walnuts and salt, then add dates, cocoa, vanilla and blend again. When it's done, you take the "dough" and form a little round cake on a plate. This small portion is so dense, that it serves four.
Serve with raspberry sauce or fresh, soft fruit.

I warm this gently: Raw Zucchini Pesto
1 medium/big zucchini - shredded to pasta threads
Pesto:
1 cup (1½ deciliter) packed fresh basil leaves
2 tablespoons of pine nuts (I used almonds and ground them in a coffee grinder)
1 garlic clove
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil (½ deciliter)
salt and pepper to taste
Blend the pesto ingredients in the food processor. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Mix the pesto with the zucchini pasta. Put in slightly warm oven (like for dehydrating). Leave it for 20-30 minutes. Eat it. I think it's better than cooked, and it has the heavy, fullflavored, rounded taste of cooked that I sometimes miss.
This can be warmed with fresh tomato's, diced, (spiced if you like). Or you can dice some mushrooms, let them marinate in tamari/ olive oil/ peppar and 2 spoonfulls of water, and let them be warmed in the oven with the pesto pasta.
PS; original recipe from:
www.epicurious.com/recipes/recipe_views/views/106932

But I gradually read Allyssa book and try new recipes in it and shop for the ingredients needed little by little...and I am becoming Raw...everything is a gradual thing...

DoinItRaw, Welcome and glad you found us! Hey, you can still warm your food but not above 105 degrees.
I keep most of my food in room temp--I don't like the coldness of the firg plus I buy few groceris at a time so it doesn't spoil in room temp setting. I als use a double pot to warm things like sun tea, fruits veggies etc before I use them.
Let us know how we can help! ;)

PS misslinda .i loveeeeeee your Zucchini Breeze idea too!!! I can eat it dreaming of being in Hawaii.~~~~~~~~ :) ~~~~~~~~~~~Hi JMD :) Yes, I use the oven to warm this. We have a really old oven, so it turns gradually all the way up. It doesn't "click". So, I don't know how yours work. If you can keep it at hand-warm/ sunny windowsill kind of hot, then I think it would be fine. I'm not an expert, though. If a cooking thermometer can show the degrees, that might help.
Thank you, MissLinda. The cake and the pesto are my favorites right now. :)

Crunchy Quinoa
Soak quinoa overnight in filtered water. Drain and and rinse 24-48 hours until there are small tails. Squeeze lemon juice, sprinkle with celtic salt and toss. Spread out on dehyrator sheet and dehyrate on low setting for 6-8 hours until crunchy. Crumble on salad or eat as is!

Blend:
1 c cut up asparagus
1 c carrot juice

Frozen Mango
(I always freeze it in chunks when I have too many ripen at once)
Frozen banana or banana ice cream
(I use this, kept in freezer)

slightly thaw the mago and banana (just till soft at the edges)
Put desired amount of each in magic bullet or vitamix.....awesome......absolutely!!!! :D

Coconut Cream:
Ingredient: shredded dried coconut
Blend(I use Vitamix) until coconut is almost creamy. That's it.
Whenever I have a sweet craving for 'junk food', this satisfies me completely. It's sweet and rich. Before raw, I used to eat this all the time from http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/coconut_cream_concentrate.htm
After I learned that this company's coconut cream is not raw, I decided to make my own, which tastes the same. It tastes even better if you add a bit of coconut oil. Hope you'll enjoy it.
Thanks Miss Linda for starting this thread. It is very helpful to me since I now eat very simply.

The simpler the better! I used to struggle with recipes in books usually because I didn't have all the ingredients until I discovered it was easier to just throw things together. Raw cakes do not fall if you don't follow the recipe exactly! And it is so much fun to eat something and think about how you will improve it te next time you make it.
For over-the-top sweetness chop a banana into a bowl sprinkle with raisins and agave nectar!
Gespacho: Chop a tomato and 1/2 a cucumber into a bowl and add oil, vinegar, salt and other savory spices.
Khale soup: process 1-2 leaves of khale with a bit of water and oil, vinegar, salt and other savory spices.
Process dried fruit with enough water to make it stick and add coconut and process again.

I just rawized a semi-SAD dish my granny makes.
She mixes:
Cucumbers, sliced very thin
onions (I prefer sweet)
sour cream
dill
salt
pepper
white vinegar
sugar
When I stopped eating dairy, I always made it myself, exactly the same, but without sour cream. It really doesn't make much difference other than it's more liquidy.
Today, I made it:
Cucumbers, sliced very thin
Vidalia onions (which are, for some reason, spicy this year)
Dill
Sea Salt
Pepper
Apple cider vinegar
Agave nectar
This is one of those things where it gets better the longer it marinates in the fridge. Or you can eat it right away.
