I have a dear friend who has been having rectal bleeding for some time, and a lot of pain, she had a colonoscopy with no definite results. They sent her to a specialist who wanted to do 4 more days of invasive testing! Yikes! SHe's unsure of what to do next. She was recently introduced to the idea of a raw food diet and is leaning towards a "radical shift" she eats mostly raw now. They have been organic whole-grainers for years.
I would like to help her if I can, if she is willing. Should I suggest some kind of a fast, like a 7 day juice fast? How should that look? Does anyone else have a similar experience. I think if she went 100% raw then her body would heal, but what can I do? She is near desperate. I would be also if I were her. I feel desperate as her friend.
Thank you for taking time to respond.

Something that will stop bleeding cold in it's tracks (unless it's a major artery of course) is shepherd's purse tea.

You can get it bulk in pretty much any health food store. Make the tea, cool it and drink a cup fast.

I'm a doula and always encourage women to drink it right after giving birth. It's amazing how it can stop almost any internal bleeding very quickly.

SHEPERDS PURSE - Capsella Bursa Pastrois - A hemostat that controls excessive bleeding in situations such as menstruation and childbirth. Can be used for internal bleeding such as stomach ulcers. Can also be used externally on wounds.

As for the advice on what else to do right now, hang on and I'm sure you'll have tons of replys right quick.

mangomama, grains are damaging to the colon. You might suggest a fresh raw food diet (no dehydrated foods) until the body has had time to heal. Dr Douglas Graham wrote a book titled Grain Damage if you want to go to his site and order it. ... Well I just went over there and couldn't find it. Maybe you can find a used one.

The human body will heal right by itself given the opportunity. Some people do water fasts, some do juice fasts, and some just eliminate the problem and let time do the rest.

If she is wanting to do a juice fast I would recommend getting Dr Norman Walker's book Vegetable and Fruit Juices. He scientifically proved that certain combinations of juices aided in repairing certain illnesses. For colon problems 10oz carrot with 6oz spinach combined several times a day is very nourishing. He usually had several combinations for each ailment though and I can't remember what else helped that particular problem. Beet juice in combination with something else was good for any bleeding problems. The paperback book is easy to find in most HFS's for around $7 and is invaluable.

I hope you are able to help her.
