I don't know why I'm always so hungry... I eat throughout the day, but when I don't I'm very hungry. Is there a particular meal or anything specific I should be eating to help my cravings to eat so much?
Any advice would be helpful.

I keep eating and dont ever seem to stop. Actually I think when I'm at work it's the longest I go with/out eating. However, I also always seem to be full. I eat lots and lots of nuts. They seem to do the trick. I like them so much that I can't stop eating them though!

Hello, nuts are very good and have lots of protein. But watch eating so many if losing weight is a goal. Drinking lots of water helps me.

wpa , green tea helps to reduce my appetite and is touted to do so by many . and a heavy raw fuel that fills me up is homemade granola . i chop up in blender sunseed , walnuts , almonds , raisins , dry pineapple , dates , etc into bb sized bits then eat loose in bowl with cinnamon sprinkled on , throw in banana and its very filling .

Hi Laura,
Have you just recently started eating raw? I remember when I first started, actually for about the first year, I was constantly hungry. I ate and ate, but I actually ended up losing quite a bit of weight, which I really didn't want to lose, as I was already quite thin. But I just ate whenever I was hungry, and didn't worry too much about it. I would say, though, to try to determine for yourself if you are really "body-hungry", as opposed to "mind-hungry". Only you can know the difference. Remember, especially in the beginning of eating raw, most of us need to eat alot more volume of food than perhaps we are used to. This is because cooked food is more concentrated than raw, and so more raw food is needed by the body to supply it's caloric needs than cooked.
I would say there's not really anything specific you "should" be eating. Just eat whatever raw foods appeal to you, in whatever quantities you feel you need.
Hope this helps,
Christine

If I need something filling, I eat my made crakers or sourkraut. Nuts and seeds too, but since they are so much fat, they tend to make me tired.

Thanks all for ur advice! Will definately take it all into consideration.
Cattzeye, we must be twins ;)... I am also thin and dont need to worry about gaining weight. And yes, I am still pretty new to raw. Just started about the end of January.
Thanks again for all your help everyone.

I literally eat all day long. Probably every 2 hours, I'm eating something. But the food is so pure it digests fast so I think it's fine, as long as you're eating a good variety.

Cravings plague me if I'm not getting enough EFA's. I tend to forget those when I'm eating really fresh fruits a lot. I find that if pop a spoonful of coconut oil into my mouth (usually its solid at this time of year around here) the cravings go away. I often use coconut oil in the morning and olive oil and hemp seeds on my salads. Not every day; but as often as possible.

Avacados work for me.
