I don't want any more "cookbooks"-I'm looking for books that really support the raw life style. Ones that I can read to keep me motivated. Ones that will tell me WHY I should keep doing this. I'm not losing motivation, but when surrounded by temptation I need support!

I have read:
Raw Family
12 steps to Raw

I am currently reading:
Living on Live Foods
Eating without Heating

but I will be finishing both in 1-2 days.

What books have you read that really motivated you to go raw or stay raw?

Most definitely Blatant Raw Foodist Propaganda! by Joe Alexander. That's a really helpful one. Also Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousens.

Interesting book choices, RVM. I hadn't heard of those before.

The last one gets awful reviews & is written in an in your face kind of way but I found it inspiring none the less.

The first one, i actually got to hear the author Dr. Ruza Bogdanovich speak at my Go Raw Cafe & she is incredible!

RVM-could you tell me more about the Primal Mothering book? I'm past child-bearing, so would it be useful?

Of all the raw books I've read, and I've read many many many, about 40

I would say that Alissa's book is my number one favorite, especially for two reasons, #1 is for inspiration, #2 is for the recipes

To add to RP's statement, #3 the paper it is printed on, #4 the support behind the book. Don't know anyone else who has such a nice website specifically designed to assist in using the book.

Nature's First Law is definetely inspirational - every chapter ends with a sentence Cooked Food is Poison. For me it helped to sink in a lot!
Living foods Lifestyle by Brenda Cobb is good especially for people with serious diseases.
Eating for Beauty is beautiful and uplifting.
Beautiful on Raw and Raw Knowledge are tons of interviews with rawfoodists, which are inspirational too.
Try to find potlucks near you, nothing is more important than see live rawfooders.

Another inspiring author is Paul Nison. His Raw Knowledge books are collections of interviews with many other inspirational authors/raw foodists. The interviews are great because they inspire you to read other books if you connect with that specific raw foodist.

I tend to view this site as a "e-book" with all levels of experiences, insight and persepctive. I'm really drawn to the idea that everyone interprets information differntly so it empowers me to develop my own personal views. An ongoing effort in evoloving newer ideas and opinoins to improve my rawness.
