Hello from Hong Kong!
I love this community and giving me lots to of inspiration and ideas to forge ahead with my raw food experience. I went 75% raw last year and towards the holiday due to French festivities (live part of the time in the South of France) very challenging to stay completely raw and very cold winter.
I will need some support in going for the 30-day challenge. I was doing fruit smoothies for breakfast, raw salads and some great recipes I found in a number of raw food cookbooks. I will check out the recipe section. Can anyone tell me what equipment are best to have handy. I have a food processor with a juicer but very time consuming with cleaning and doesn't juice very well, which one do you suggest Champion? How about blenders, is vitamix as good as the cuisineart heavy duty model? My husband gave me a small dehydrator for Xmas, I do need to know what to do with it. I'm still stuck on just drying fruits but find dried fruits too sweet and concentrated. What other things can I do with it? I will find a slicer and mandoline, anyone know where is the best place to buy one? I tried going to Williams Sonoma but very little stuff for raw foodists. I also received a set of amazing knives for Xmas so I'm set with that. Any other recommendations will be a great help in getting my kitchen equipped and raw ready for some rawlicious recipes.
I was doing a lot of weight training but have since cut back on my overall regimen. I'm planning on training for a triathlon and would like support from any of you who have done this or are doing it. How did you do the carb loading phase with raw food as well as the protein replacements? I'm also planning on doing more yoga or yin exercises. Funnily enough, I read my horoscope for the year and it specifically said that I should turn my workouts more inward and slow down the pace and forget about those 3-hour hard core gym bunny sessions. I figured even though triathlon is grueling but it's also very mental.
I'm excited to be a part of this health and healing community!
I look forward to your posts and contributing when I can.
Hugs from Hong Kong,
MM
