I am having a real hard time after I have served my DH his dinner. The warm (I am ashamed to say greasy) savory smell is prooving a terrible pull for me.
When this happens I go through every nook and cranny looking for something raw to take it's palce, I find nothing and give in and have a bite. I feel like an addict who just got a hit!
Any ideas. It's always a warm salty savory.
Thanks Guys! :o :o :o

Eachpeachpearplum,
Hi! I would not let it get to you. Just remember the benefits your body recieves when you eat raw and how good you feel. Also remember the bad things you are not putting in your body.
I just made some nori sticks, (chard, tomatoes, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, flax, garlic, sea salt, olive oil spread on nori sheets and rolled up into a "Slim Jim" stick, dehydrated). I have hem in the cupboard in case I get hungry.
Also, raw crackers on hand to eat. Have a grapefruit or a smoothie. :)
I know what you mean, it really gets to me, too. If I don't have any raw nibbles handy or don't want to eat because its after 6 pm, I run in and brush my teeth - the sweetness of the toothpaste is a wonderful deterent to those "little bites" :D ...oh yeah, and makes for a nice kiss or two.

I've been buying prepared foods for my husband so I don't have to deal with the issues of cooking. At least not for him. He is starting to complain about it though. More and more raw food is coming into the house and he has started eating it. My stores of pumpkin seeds, nuts and coconut have rapidly diminished. I had to buy more and hide it for me!
He was complaining about the prepared food and when I asked what he wanted to eat he said "Spa food". I have no idea what this is. But my dad said he could make me up some labels that say this on it and he told me to slap them onto all the food in the house. Gee, maybe I can get him to eat the raw stuff by doing that!

Yes I used to get Month of Meals (Redmond) and I think I will try doing that again for him. I also am finding my "stores" of raw snacks are being raided as he is open to raw, but he does like his hot meal at night!
Thanks, EPPP

This raw chili has always worked for me. It itself can be addicting. It has a cooked food feel to it. It is slightly warm from the dehydrator.

I'm trying to plan "overlapping meals" where he gets the cooked version and I get the raw. Examples:
* Pad Thai with bean thread for him and squash for me
* Cooked pizza / raw pizza
* Cooked barley / Raw Spanish rice (with sprouted barley)
Helps with prep time too if there's a common sauce or other components.
Good luck!

Heres what works for me! Overeat hubbys food one day & feel the harsh effects! That'll keep you from wanting it for awhile! LOL!

you guys are better than me-I've been telling DH to PLEASE cook for himself for a few weeks until I get my "raw legs" stabilized under me. He's been eating peanut butter on bread for 5 days straight. I told him he CAN learn to make other stuff, and maybe even try raw-*gasp!* I'm hoping they will all want to do raw with me...a girl can dream, right?

I am so lucky, my hubby does all of his own cooking and in the garage, not in the house, there is nothing in the house that isn't raw.
so, I don't see it, smell it, touch it, cook it, clean up after it, or wash the dishes of it.
that is all one of his jobs, as it is his choice to eat those things, and I prepare my foods.
Although alot of the time, he does prepare my foods too.
We work from our home, and so one of his choices is to take care of me and my needs.
