Hello to everyone,

I became interested in going raw as soon as I found out about it.

I have fibromyalgia and after failing to get relief from a dozen doctors and even more prescriptions I decided to try the Master Cleanse. While on the Master Cleanse I found out about the concept/lifestyle of eating only raw foods...vegan...organic and I thought that if all of the medication isn't working, then maybe I need NO medication from man, but all of the things that my body really needs are in what God has provided for us.

I would be interested in talking to anyone who has/had fibromyalgia and how eating raw has helped/hurt things.

I am fairly prepared. Already owned a vita-mix and dehydrator. Bought a food processor today. Alissa's book and DVDs are on order already. I have been eating 95% raw for approximately 15 days already. (8 were during the Master Cleanse). I have had few detox symptoms aside from being extremely thirsty...I guess this means I have a super-duper set of kidneys!

I am lactose intolerant and was never really a bread eater. My problem is with sugar cravings. I'll be looking on the boards here for that topic too.

Thanks to Allison for funding a good board like this...I have already been prowling around and have learned a few things already!

Hello and welcome!
I have something like fibromyalgia (Dr. said it was that). I have had it all my life. Since going raw, I have experienced much less pain. When I fall off the raw food bandwagon, I get my pains back full force. My very best results were raw and living foods (sprouts and wheatgrass important) and no or very little fruit. For being new to raw, we say eat anything you want thats raw. I only mention this to show what results I have had. I love fruit and am learning by listening to my body how much it is happy with. My best advice is to listen to how your body responds to foods.
Best wishes to you!

Welcome Neverknow, from a fellow Michigander. I'm in the suburbs of Detroit but I just wanted to give you a wave and tell you that you will love this board. There are many on here who have suffered the way you have and found peace and health through raw. Best wishes.

Hi Dawn,

I'm in Grand Rapids...we're too far for a potluck! :-( Do you know of any Raw Restaurants in Michigan?
