View Full Version : Yuck, totally awful raw bar

I was at our food co-op today and saw some raw bars called Rawmas on sale. Thought, why not, and bought one. It was one of the most awful things I've ever put in my mouth. No wonder they're on sale. My friend who has been raw for several years was with me and she and her daughter tried a bite and thought it was awful too, so it's not just my taste buds. Yuck!

I wonder what they did for market research.
I like my raw food bars but my friend says that it is like eating cardboard but she id not raw.

Ditto, I purchased a couple (rawma) here at the Go Raw Cafe, and don't care much for them either. I much prefer Larabars, sans the occasional shell fragment.

I've seen them and they look so dry and rubbery.

I've never purchased or even tried a prepared raw anything anywhere. I just make stuff myself.
I'm guessing that it didn't have much flavor probably because it either didn't have much spice or sweetener.(i always add way more spice than recipes call for)
I can only imagine how difficult it would be to make something that everyone liked, of course in this case just one person liked. LOL
so, if you don't like it, you might try smashing it up as a granola and mixing some fresh fruits and berries with it, then pouring some fresh creamy almond milk on top, that sound good.

...maybe they were on sale cause they were "old"
I've never had a yucky one...'course I like a couple flavors better than others...but not a yucky one yet
