Sunflower Seeds

Question... do some of the sunflower seeds have brown spots on them... or did I do something wrong? I used unhulled seeds and about 50% of them sprouted, but to be honest I did rinse them exactly as I should have.

And how long do you let the tails get? Long enough for greens??
