- Can I do half water & half juice in a day?
- Can I add lemon to the all water fast?
- If I can add lemon do I need to do the SWF for cleansing (I prefer that to an enema)?
- Is SWF okay on a water fast?
- Can you have organic tea on a water fast?
I know this is a lot of questions, but I want to do it right. Thanks again, SO MUCH!!!

There are so many different fasts that it is up to you to decide what you want to give to your body. The main idea of a fast is to use the energy your digestive system normally uses for other things, such as healing, detoxifying, and cleansing, while refraining from introducing other toxins.
The water fast is prefered to some because you are only supplying your body with the simplest purest form of hydration so it can clean house.
Herbal fasts include plenty of water and different herbal teas or liquid forms added to water to support the organs in cleasing. This is may not be raw but many believe there are great benifits.
The juice fast includes plenty of water with juices, of course!! Many people feel this is better than the only water fast because you are supplying your body with vitamins, minerals, and fuel for it to use and burn while it is detoxing. You can use fruits or vegetables. You can use one vegetable/fruit for one day and switch to a different one the next for a different organ or system.
Then there is the master cleanse, this cleanse kind of takes different aspects of each cleanse and puts it into one. The lemonade mix of water, fresh lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne, combined with drinking plenty of water daily, salt water flushes in the morning and senna leaf tea at night provides fuel to burn, cleansers, and elimination.
Personally I believe each fast has it's own benifits and should be used at different times. If you have decided to go on a water fast that is your decision and a water fast would only include water. But you can make up your own fast, if you decide you would like to have lemon for flavor and cleansing properties that is your decision. If you would like to drink herbal teas for their benefits or salt water for retention and trace minerals. Do what you feel is right. Maybe do two days one way, then two another and see how your body reacts.
Just remember it is normal to feel tired, sick, and mentally unclear the first couple days--(expecially if you are new to fasting) due to detox and cleansing. But after three or four days the clouds will pass and you will feel enegetic and alive. RENEWED!!!
Good Luck on your fasting!!
