Solarliving,

HI! I always start with water before I eat and then dig into a bowl of a fruit/veggie combo that has been put in the food processor.

Like today, I mixed 2 cups of spinach,1 1/2 fuji apples,3 broccoli florets

Road bike? :)

water, maybe some Yerba Matte tea and 3 Cordycept Mushroom caps from New Chapter (these are dried into caps). If awhile from time I get up to work out I may have 1/2 a Fuji Apple or a small serving of Gogi Berries if appleless.

I eat a raw cracker with coconut oil spread on it for energy.

Thanks everyone for your responses. This route I go on is pretty intense so I needed something that would allow me to ride for an hour. I ended up doing a smoothie of strawberries, blackberries and spinache. I brought some nuts and seaweed for the ride back. It held me up pretty good. I just wondered if I was eating enough.

Thanks again

I make a green smoothie w/coconut butter and have a serving beforehand, and for durnig I take the same smoothie and dilute it 1/4 smoothie to 3/4 water. :)

I always eat fruit before I exercise. On weekdays, I exercise after work, in the late afternoon. On these days, I usually eat a big apple about 30 minutes before. On weekends, I exercise in the AM. I get up early, eat my usual breakfast of a big fruit salad. Then I wait about 1 hour before exercising.

For me just coming off juice fast and now ending of recovery time I hope,
I've been doing 8oz spring water upon wake up to get fluids moving, then make a fruit drink in the blender mixed with spring water and organic maca powder before workout. :)

what I really like about being raw is that I can workout with nothing, or after eating pretty much anything, cause my body isn't bogged down digesting a lump of crap. It's amazing...

I also exercise first thing in the morning so for me it is just water. When I get home I have citrus juice (orange and/or grapefruit) and then an hour or so later a large green smoothie. Before raw I had to eat a large breakfast before exercising or I'd get so sick to my tummy, but not anymore!

Before cardio (in the AM) grapefruit and water
Before lifting (in the PM) celery
after both protein shake (you can do a green smoothie here)

I eat a banana, tahini, water and coconut oil smoothie beforehand. For post workout I eat an apple with almond butter drizzled with honey to help with my glycogen stores. I feel fantastic afterwards. And the energy I have during my workout is so much better then when I was eating the SAD.

I did a 13.2 mile time trial on my road bike this past Sat. I was well-fueled and felt great, even knocking 3 minutes off last year's time :)

Here's what I ate:

My race was at 10:00 a.m. and I woke up at 5:45 a.m.

6:30 a.m. Smoothie: Banana (1), Mango (1), a few strawberries, ice and water

9:00 a.m. Banana (1)

9:45 a.m. small bit of energy gel (not raw, but I only use it on race days)

I felt great and didn't have the dreaded everything exiting LOL.

Afterwards, I ate a Larabar :) I forget to eat afterwards...big no-no. You need to refuel and replenish :)
