They're dried plums, so I don't see why they shouldn't be, unless they are dried at high temperatures. I guess it's like raisins. I would check with the store where you are buying them.

Unless they are specialty raw prunes, or ones that are sun dried, they are usually dried at very high temperatures, then rehydrated using steam. The texture of a sun dried prune is actually quite hard... store bought prunes are usually soft and mushy (and quite heat processed). Sorry!
