OK so my friend started me on this. Now i Think I can do it all the way *(i think) anyway. So i need to advise on what to eat. Im a curantly 60% raw, on the week ends i like to forget ya know. But I eat right during the week. All kinds of raw fruit and veggies. I dont eat to much meat anymore. I have been doing this for a bout 2 months. Every time i eat cooked food i get heartburn and it feels like its all stuck in there or somthing. Dehidrator? food prosser? vistamins, salad dressing???? Help please!!!!!

Marilu,
I am so happy you decided to do this for your health. I am so happy I am raw. I feel so much better.
As far as appliances and such, all I have is a cheapo blender and a kitchen knife and I have been 100% for 2 months. I am going to buy a dehydrator within the next couple of weeks though and probably a heavy duty food processor eventually, and maybe a Vitamix eventually too. I would also like a spiral slicer to make spiral noodles out of zuchinis.
I wish you luck. Make sure you get your greens and don't forget you will most likely go through detox of some sort once in a while, espesially the first week that you are 100% raw.

Welcome aboard, you will love the people here are all very helpful. Get alissa cohen book and DVD package--best book and DVD I ever brought. Also go to the library and get information on the raw life style--it helps to educate you self. google raw vegan and you will fine much free information on other web sites.
When I get heart burn (which is not very often anymore since going raw) I make a green smoothie with collards or kale, apple, water, soaked dates, lemon juice, sometime banana, sometime avocado if I want it thick.
I even give this to my SAD husband and it stops his heart burn. Good luck and welcome

Start with the book; always the book. It is so much more than just recipes. It is inspirational and will help you start physically and emotionally. You can buy all the gadgets available but without the wisdom and motivation you will find in Alissa's book, as well as other raw books, you will find it hard to stay focused for long.
