First Hello to everyone and I'm a newbe here and to what's going on in my life now !
I have played with a raw food deit for a year or so and as of today I have been on a raw fruit,seed and nut diet for 31 days. And I feel GREAT and my wife ( even if its worring her she is total behind me ). I just got this diet in my head and have started doing it and it hasn't killed me yet ! :eek: So here it is;
8 am 1 banana
10 am 1 small box of raisins
12 noon about 35 green seedless grapes
2 pm 1 seedless naval orange
4pm ( skip it to eat with my 6 pm )
6 pm 1 lg. green apple and 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
8 pm 1 tablespoon of local honey
And that's it ! I feel great living on it and I worked 2 days over 16 hrs and ate some almonds and an extra orange. The mind game has been the hardest thing to over come. I have for years eaten only 1 meal a day and now it seems that eaten is all I do. I have gottin myself a smoothie machine and plan on making ah something . So that's how I came across this forum looking for some ideas on making a raw smoothie !
ps; looked for the spelling check and they anit one so sorry about the spelling.

Hi Tiger. I agree with you on the spell check but I guess that we just have to get on without it.
I do think that you should make that smoothie a green one because you do not have any greens in your diet.
Hope to hear some more from you.

It doesn't seem to me like you're eating enough!

Anyway... if you do a search on smoothies you'll probably come up with a kazillion ideas. My favorite breakfast is a smoothie. I use a boatload of fresh bananas, but also buy bananas when they're on sale, peel & freeze them in a ziplock. Then I buy about 4 young thai coconuts each week. I always buy one pineapple each week and that will keep fine with the cut side down into a glass bowl in the fridge. (This feels like deja vu).

So, each morning, I toss in 1 1/2 bananas, a nice 3/4 inch slice of pineapple, some coconut milk, and whatever fruit is in season. Sometimes I add frozen mango or berries. Whip it up and yum.

The last few days I've begun adding a few leaves of something green to make a "green smoothie." I learned about it on this website. It's easy, just 60% fruit and 40% greens. Read the posts because different greens are better. Mustard and collards are too spicy in my opinion. Kale is great. The thing is that you would have to chew and chew and chew to get the nutrients from greens because they're encapsulated in the cell walls. But in a smoothie, they're all released and you get more benefit. Cool, huh? I bet even your wife would drink this stuff, it's so good!

This makes about 1/2 of my blender full of smoothie - maybe 2 1/2 glasses and it holds me from around 7 am until maybe 10.

I'd starve to death on your diet, but hey, if it works for you, AWESOME!

That is wonderful that you are feeling great. It is important to stay tuned in to how you are feeling, and not just physically! How you feel about your diet mentally, emotionally and spiritually is equally important. If you ever feel any of those are off it is time to shake things up.

You sure don't eat very much and I don't see any essential fatty acids in your diet either. Long term, these are important things you may wish to incorporate for long term vibrant health. But as you said you are feeling good, then your body must be enjoying your selection.

Rowan had great smoothie ideas! And it truly is a great way to add greens to your diet without having to taste them. I love banana, frozen strawberry and greens like spinach, romaine or kale. Tastes just like s strawberry milkshake, thick and creamy.

Welcome to the forum! Again I am so thrilled for you that you are feeling so fabulous. :)
Warmly~

Thanks yal for the advice, about the amount I'm eating ( sounds just like the wife ) ;) Did my first smoothie last night 5 strawberries, 1 banana and a lg spoonful of honey and a glass of ice. Stuck the straw in and got a good suck and BAM right to the eye! Hit me harder then home made ice cream . :D It was real good but will be better when the strawberries are picked fresh.
Did some checking and I know I'm low on calories/carbs and protein so I'll see were this takes me and will adjust .
Thanks; Tim
Every man, woman, boy, and girl comes into contact with Jesus Christ. And He will be either a stepping stone into heaven or a
stumbling stone into hell. No one can be neutral about Jesus Christ. Either you rise on Him, or you fall on Him. You cannot walk around Him. Either
you’re saved by Him or you’re judged by Him. You will encounter Jesus Christ. He is inevitable. He is unavoidable. He is inescapable. What you do
with Jesus Christ determines what Jesus Christ will do with you. What are you doing with Jesus Christ today?
