Hi Misslinda,

I have been reading your journal and notice you have been fasting. i know you are familiar with this subject and detoxing issues as well.

I have been raw for 7 1/2 weeks. I went through my intial detoxing and anothor minor detox as well. Lately, I feel a need to fast or if not to completely fast, to eat very little in addition to a water/juice cleanse. I am about 189 lbs. I know some people may think this weird, but I just feel like my body wants to get rid of the excess fat I have because it is full of toxins. I also feel the need to cleanse my organs, especially my liver and kidneys.

I am tryig to do what my body tells me to do and at this point I fluctuate between a water/juice fast, a master cleanse and very little eating. Like maybe nibbling once in a while. I do not feel ready to do a complete water, juic or master cleanse fast. I also feel a need to excercise. When I excercise, I feel immediately like I have cleansed my body of toxins somewhat better than before I excercised.

My question is this. I know most people who have fasted believe it must be a complete fast with no food. Should I do a complete fast or should I listen to my body and do a fast with nibbles here and there. I have a tendancy to want to drink lemonade like on the master cleanse. The salt water appeals to me also.

What do you think? Should I just go along with what my body feels I should do?

Good evening Karen :)

we're both awake tonite!

Your doing absoutely right, if you dont' feel hungry and find yourself eating or nibbling here and there b/c there is no real hunger than I would say trust that and run with it ;)

There are so many important aspects of the whole food itself. Fiber is so important for the terrain of the stomach so our good bacteria can survive. I ended up doing one becuz of the high level toxicity that I was displaying and unable to eat almost anything--even an apple.

Anyway,I like what you are saying.............relying on your body's natural judgement--in some way shape or form, you are already leaning into a fast. I would make sure you haydrate well since you don't have much of an appetite.

hydration is more important than "juice" per se. in the future, i will only use juices for medicinal purposes and only do water fasts.

I really would encourage doing castor oil packs for the liver and kidneys---increases detox and very powerful!

How are you bm's btw? please don't let what I say swtop you from doing what you feel is right for you.

did the other nite's garbanzo's throw you off emotionally and physically?

:)

Hi misslinda,

I pretty much stay up till 2-3 am on days that I take coconut oil.

I was wondering, what is a castor oil pack?

Yes, the garbanzos, Oh my God, I was soooooo bloated. They litereally gave me pains in my intestines. I think I ate way too many of them. I pretty much feel better today.

My BM's by the way are fine 2-3 per day, very easy, not constipated at all.

Thank you for your input. For some reason, my liquids are naturally increasing and my whole foods are decreasing. I also tend to want to drink either grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits and think about lemonade in larger quantities. It is interesting because I remember about 10 years ago when I began to eat healthier, I was excercising very frequently and would drink like a gallon of lemonade a day. I becamevery fit and healthy and felt GREAT. I feel like I am leaning toward the same tendancys again. Hopefully, once I become more healthy and fit, I will be able to maintain it without gaining weight again and becoming so toxic through unhealthy foods.

I also discovered that I absolutely cannot ever eat non-organic foods. I become depressed within 3-5 minutes and have to wait it out for an hour or so. It made me think of all of the people out there with mood swings and depression that have no clue that it may be chemicals and pesicides.

I'll see you soon.

Thanks again.
