Hey!
I got about 2 hours of sleep last night and I'm SO tired! I'm babysitting and just trying to stay awake enough to keep up w/ these adorable boys. What foods would be best for energy?
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Laura

green smoothies are great for a healthy dose of energy or sometimes i just mix up some powdered spirulina in water-any sea veggies are great sources of energy. also, try taking some nice deep breaths.

coconut oil
I posted an article about cocont benefits here on this site and it talks about coconut oil being used for energy immediately after you ingest it. It keeps me up until 2-3 in the morning if I eat it past 11 am.

Several raw chocholate nibs alone. That keeps me up if I eat them at night. Now I use them just in sweets.

green drinks, apples for more even energy....if you plan ahead I find that Cordycepts Mushrooms (New Chapter) in capsule form are great for energy. I take them in the morning before my cardio.

I've heard that apples supposedly wake you up better than coffee. My husband (who hardly ever touches fruit, and has no qualms about drinking loads of Mountain Dew) says this works for him. He eats applesauce in the morning when he can't wake up. He'd rather do applesauce than Mountain Dew.
Sprouted grains give me energy when it feels like I need something more "heavy duty" than fruits or veggies.

Green smoothies for me with several dates added gives me a lot of energy. This is what I have each morning right after my daily workout.
