Good Morning Everyone!
My name is Maya and I have just finished 12 days at 100% raw. It went well, and I felt very good and lost a few pounds. I had decided that I wouldn't start my 30 day challenge until after my bday (next Tuesday), and I would leave the possibility open for eating cooked on that day. Well...last night my honey and I went out, and I decided to give the cooked food a try for an experiment. It didn't feel so bad at the time, though the food was not as delicious as I thought that it might be - really pretty tasteless. I also had a couple of martinis :o , and those weren't great either. There was no real pleasure in them, and it seemed that it was totally a waste of time and alcohol. Later, I felt lousy, and I slept even worse. Lesson learned!
I feel so grateful to be able to go back to eating raw! The first 12 days were pretty easy once I made my decision. I promised myself that as long as what I was eating was raw, I would just go for it. Consequently, I probably ate too many nuts, and a couple of dehydrated items that I wouldn't have had if I had intended on being stricter, but nonetheless, I felt great!
I live in So.Cal (Ventura) and I will be 48 in a week. I have about 30 lbs. to lose to get to my goal weight (135) and I intend to do that in the coming months. My intention is to go low fat raw a la Carlene for my 30 day challenge. I am so inspired by Carlene and all of the rest of you, and I know that I can do this!
I have enjoyed reading the boards for over a year, but I just got up the nerve to try 100% raw two weeks ago and to sign on today.
Have a wonderful day!
